A helpful guide for how to prepare.

Updated over a week ago

Background

2TurnItOn makes signing up for water utilities easy. With that said, the more prepared you are with the necessary materials, the easier the process. Below is a handy guide for what you should have prepared in order to successfully sign up for water service.

What You Might Need

Each city has different requirements, so you may not need all of the items below, but it is good to have these items available in case they are required to activate service.

Drivers license (or other form of valid government ID)

Almost always cities will require a valid government ID in order to process an order.

Social security number

In many cases,

Social security card

Occasionally, to prove identity a city may require an image of your social security card.

Lease documents

If you are a renter, cities will want you to prove that you actually occupy the unit that they are servicing and that the named tenant is the same as the named water accountholder.

Proof of ownership

If you are a homeowner, cities will want you to prove that you actually own the home they are servicing and that the named owner is the same as the named water accountholder.

Valid credit or debit card

Some cities will require a deposit or payment of upfront fees to activate service.

Good To Know

The list above lays out the most common items cities require, but it isn't exhaustive. Depending on your circumstances, cities may reach out and request additional information in order to process your order. If they do, they will reach out over email using the 2TurnItOn platform.
